• Robin van Persie played all 90 minutes and converted a penalty in the 87th minute to complete the scoring in a Dutch rout.

• Alex Song started in the midfield and played 62 minutes in Cameroon's 3-1 loss to Portugal. Cameroon already trailed 2-0 when Song was pulled out.

• Lukasz Fabianski kept a clean sheet, making two saves, in a torrential rain storm as Poland and Serbia played to a nil-nil draw in a game without very many chances.
